How did it all start? Of course, in high school, when we did Tartuffe... Then in another high school, already as a teacher, leading Hungarian and French drama clubs, at festivals in Pécs, Kazan, Orthez, then came the training in drama pedagogy, trainings, two years at the Apor Vilmos Catholic College, lots of studying, observing, experiencing.
In the meantime I founded the Nyitott kör Association with Zoltán Meszlényi-Bodnár, where I worked as an actor and drama teacher for thirteen years. Two years passed since I have founded a department in Nyitorr kör, specialising in drama education, where Dóri and I started researching how to make drama education as interactive as possible, so that the children's personalities and opinions could be expressed as freely as possible.
And what do I like about it? The feeling of recalling faces and gestures on the way home after a session, because an encounter has taken place, a sentence has been spoken that was never spoken before, a realisation has been made. Then, however tired I am, I am full of energy. Because in fact "what am I doing? It sounds very prosaic, but I'm just trying to be with the other person. It's almost like being in a cage with a tiger. I'm trying to be with the tiger. Understand the tiger? I wouldn't try to understand the tiger, you can't. But you can play with the tiger, or you can wrestle with the tiger, or you can die by the tiger..."
